I gave up my car a year ago and made the switch to a scooter. I hated cars, I hated car repairs, I hated the dependency we have on cars; I knew it was time to make a switch.
My scooter is a 2009 Genuine Buddy 125cc Scooter. It’s a wonderful seafoam green and I was very, very lucky to find it gently used on Craigslist. Buddy is actually classified as a motorcycle as it can hit top speeds of 60+.
Thus far I’ve only ventured on the Charleston peninsula with Buddy, but it is capable of crossing bridges (I haven’t worked up the nerve). Thankfully I live and work on the Peninsula and have a fantastic boyfriend to help me when I need to leave.
